Blog (free add-on)

Blog is a free official add-on. It gives your platform's website a blog at /blog, written from the admin panel: news, study tips and guides that bring students and creators to your site from Google and social media.

Installing

  1. Admin → Configuration → Modules → Available add-ons → Blog → Install.
  2. Open Content → Blog posts and write your first post. The blog is live at https://your-domain.com/blog straight away.

You find it in the admin panel under Content:

PageWhat it's for
Blog postsWrite, schedule and publish posts; see views and the most read post
Blog categoriesGroup posts by topic
Blog settingsBlog name, introduction, what post pages show, and the footer link

Writing a post

Content → Blog posts → New post:

  1. Title. The address (/blog/your-title) is made from it while the post is a draft. You can type your own.
  2. Content. The editor has headings, bold, italic, links, lists, quotes, code and pictures (Attach files).
  3. Summary (optional). One or two sentences shown under the title on the blog page and in link previews. Without one, the start of the post is used.
  4. Cover image. Shown on the blog page, at the top of the post and in link previews. Wide images work best (1600 × 900); crop it in the built-in editor.
  5. Organise. Pick or create a category and tags right in the form, and choose the author (any super admin).
  6. Search engines & sharing (optional). A title and description just for Google, with a live preview of how the result will look.

Reading time is worked out for you. Everything you paste is cleaned when you save, so scripts and unsafe links never reach your readers.

Publishing and scheduling

You chooseWhat happens
DraftOnly you can see it. Use Preview to check it
Published, no date or a past dateLive now
Published, a future dateScheduled: goes live on its own at that time (no cron job needed)
  • Featured puts the post big at the top of the blog. Without a featured post, the newest one leads.
  • Preview opens the post exactly as readers will see it. The link works for 7 days, so you can send it to someone for a check.
  • The menu badge on Blog posts shows how many posts are scheduled.

WARNING

Once a post is live, people may share its address. Changing the address afterwards breaks those links, so the editor warns you.

Managing posts

Content → Blog posts has tabs for All, Published, Scheduled, Drafts and Trash, a search box, and filters by category, tag and featured. At the top: published posts, total views and the most read post. Views count each reader once per visit; search engines and super admins aren't counted.

Each post's menu: View on site / Preview, Publish now, Move to drafts, Duplicate, Move to trash. In Trash you can Restore a post or delete it for good. Select several posts to publish, unpublish or trash them at once.

Categories and tags

Content → Blog categories: name, colour (one is picked if you leave it empty), description and address. Drag rows to set the order of the category buttons on the blog. Deleting a category keeps its posts on the blog, without a category.

Each category has its own page (/blog/category/study-tips) and each tag too (/blog/tag/exams). Tags are created as you type them in a post.

Quizora's footer comes with a Blog link under Company that points nowhere yet. Blog settings → Link the footer to the blog points it at /blog (or adds a Blog link if you removed it). You can rename or move it any time under Admin → Settings → Footer. The settings page shows whether the footer links to the blog.

What readers see

The blog uses your site's own top bar, footer, brand colours, fonts, analytics and custom code, and works on phones.

  • Blog page: search, category buttons, the featured post, a grid of posts and page numbers.
  • Post page: reading progress bar, cover, author, date and reading time, table of contents, tags, share buttons, previous and next post, and "Keep reading".

Search engines, RSS and sharing

AddressWhat it is
/blog/sitemap.xmlEvery live post and category. Submit it in Google Search Console so new posts are found fast
/blog/feedRSS feed with full posts, for feed readers and newsletter tools

Every post page has its own title and description, a canonical address, Open Graph and Twitter cards (the cover is the preview image) and structured data (BlogPosting and breadcrumbs). Search results pages and previews are noindex.

  • Sample posts. Run php artisan blog:demo on the server to add a ready-made set of posts with categories, tags, cover images and an FAQ in each. It's handy for a demo site or to see the blog before you write. Running it again adds nothing twice; php artisan blog:demo --fresh replaces only the sample posts.
  • FAQs. Add a heading called Frequently asked questions (or FAQ) with each question as a subheading and the answer below it. Search engines and AI assistants can then quote your answers directly (FAQPage structured data).
  • AI assistants. /blog/llms.txt lists your blog and every live post with its summary in plain text, the format AI assistants and answer engines look for. Blog pages also allow large image previews and full snippets in search results.
