Gradebook (free add-on)

Gradebook is a free official add-on. Every creator gets a gradebook of their students' results and a printable report card to share with each student.

Installing

  1. Admin → Configuration → Modules → Available add-ons → Gradebook → Install.
  2. That's it: every creator gets it. It isn't sold per plan.

Creators find it in their panel under Gradebook.

The gradebook

One row per student, one column per quiz, showing each student's best score:

ColourMeaning
GreenPassed (at or above the quiz's pass mark)
AmberClose to passing
RedNeeds help
—Hasn't taken that quiz

Each cell also shows how many tries the student took. The last column is the student's average, and the bottom row is the class average per quiz.

At the top:

  • Students, Average score, Pass rate and Quizzes shown for the current selection.
  • Period: all time, 30 days, 90 days or 12 months.
  • Quizzes: pick the columns (your 6 most recently attempted quizzes by default).
  • Search by student name or email.
  • Export CSV: one row per student and quiz, with best %, score, attempts, passed and last attempt. Opens in Excel or Google Sheets.

Only finished attempts count (completed or timed out). Results update by themselves as students finish quizzes.

A student's details

Click a student's name to see:

  • quizzes taken, average best score, and how many quizzes they passed,
  • every attempt: date, time taken, score, and a certificate link when one was issued.

Report cards

From a student's details, Create shareable link makes a private link to a printable report card:

  • your name and logo,
  • the student's best result on each of your quizzes, with pass status and certificate verification links,
  • an optional note from you, e.g. "Great progress this term!",
  • Print / Save as PDF: it prints cleanly on A4.

Renew linkMakes a new link; the old one stops working
Turn off linkThe report card is no longer available

The link is 40 random characters, so it can't be guessed. It is hidden from search engines and only shows results from your quizzes. The panel shows how often a report card was opened.

For the platform admin

Admin → Configuration → Gradebook shows, for the last 30 days:

  • which creators use it,
  • their students, attempts and average scores,
  • how many report cards were shared and opened.
